Bell Bottom: Vikram Gaikwad, The Man Behind Lara Dutta's Look As Indira Gandhi, Thinks It's Not ‘Worth Commenting’ On Sapna Bhavnani’s Criticism
Actor Lara Dutta’s look as Indira Gandhi from Bell Bottom became the talk of the town since the trailer was released. As millions of people were praising Lara and the makeup artist for bringing an astounding look to the table, on the other hand, renowned hairstylist Sapna Bhavnani was not very impressed with her wig and sort of disapproves of it. She took to her Twitter handle and said, ‘Such a bad wig though can see the lining of it. But of course, you wouldn’t as you’re not a hair person. We haven’t come close to mastering hair yet.’ Though she was expressing her views, the film's makeup artist Vikram Gaikwad reacted to her criticism and said it is not worth commenting.

Vikram told Hindustan Times, “I don’t think it’s worth commenting. I generally don’t do these discussions through media.” Further, explaining the process of the makeup, he continued, “The responsibility of executing the same on face visually comes on the shoulders of an actor and make-up design team.”

“The result you see today is the outcome of a very thorough process. I read the script and then the casting and direction team informed us that Lara is going to perform as Indira Gandhi.” Vikram told the portal, further adding, “To start with, we researched several pictures and videos of Indiraji and compared them with Lara’s. Indiraji has three prominent features — eyebrows, nose, and face cut along with hairstyle. If you see, we’ve changed the shape and style of eyebrows to make them look more dominant and done prosthetics on the nose.”

Meanwhile, sharing her transformation video on her Instagram, Lara Dutta backed it with, “Never had I imagined portraying a personality this pivotal & when I saw how this transformation translated on the screen, everything felt surreal & worth it. Can’t wait for y’all to watch my performance in #BellBottom”
